HELLO
Yes, a belated Happy New Year to everyone! It's been quite busy and I didn't get a newsletter out last month. Things are going very well. It's been quite busy with the classes at Place des Arts; lots of joy in the classroom each week with the children. This past term we have been studying the music of Mozart. Everyone is pumped about the Olympics in our area of the world. Yes, 'tis quite exciting. I will go to listen to the choirs at Mackin Park on Thursday morning and await the arrival of the torch. CONCERT ALERT: To add to the Olympic Fervor the RAINBOW SINGERS and I will be performing this Saturday morning: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13th, at the TERRY FOX LIBRARY in Port Coquitlam. I do hope to see some of you there! We will be doing the CANADA SHOW once again to fit in with the Olympic theme. The concert is at 10:30 at the Library, but come earlier and enjoy the Pancake Breakfast at 9am. OLYMPIC ENTERTAINMENT: There is lots of entertainment scheduled for the duration of the Olympics. Here is the OLYMPIC ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE site for Vancouver venues. Also, Surrey will be having entertainment each day. And it may be easier to get to. Plus they will have the Musical Ride each day at 3pm and 8pm. PAST STUDENTS: Will try to keep in touch with the singers and past students. It is so great to hear about what they do as they get older. Went to a social function last week. A man came up to me and said, "You probably don't remember me or my son. But, he went through your program back in the mid-eighties. You did something right, he was motivated to keep studying music and is now a sound engineer at Brian Adams' studio in Vancouver." I love hearing these stories. I should somehow keep track and keep a record. If you have more, please send them to me.
