

THE CONCERT
Community concerts change according to the venue. Here is an general overview of what to expect at a community concert with Mr. I & the Rainbow Singers:
1) HAPPY DAY DAY - Opening song celebrating life at the turn of the century. Audience involved in actions.
2) LET'S BE FRIENDS - Song about friendship. How we all need someone to listen to us and to be there for us.
3) BUILDING A BETTER WORLD - Kind of a rap song about taking care of the earth, taking care of each other, and taking care of ourselves. Actions.
4) HELLO AROUND THE WORLD - A song that sings 'Hello' in several different languages. Children from the audience come on stage to wave long balloons with the music. Actions for all.
5) CANADA RAP - Children from audience up to hold the Canada Flag. Rap song about provinces of Canada.
6) CANADA IN MY POCKET - Michael Mitchell's great song about how the coins of Canada teach us something about ourselves. Children from the audience up on stage to hold giant coins.
7) TO THIS LAND/ THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND - Fun song that highlights each of the Rainbow Singers. Audience sings along.
8) COUNTING DOG - fast and funny song about counting animals. Animal sounds, dancing.
9) MOLI HUA - Slow, chinese folk song sung in Chinese and in English.
10) HARUGA KITA - Japanese song of Spring. Dancing.
11) THIS LITTLE COW - Fingerplay about cows. Do they really snore?
12) THREE LITTLE PIGS - Interactive story. Mr. I's version of what really happened.

13) THE HOP - Dancing, hopping song.
14) CONTINENT TWIST - Let's twist with the children up on stage.
15) THE CHILD & THE RAT - Duet with Mr. I & one of the Rainbow Singers. Beautiful song to combat prejudice.
16) MAGIC PENNY - Children up on stage playing shakers and dancing along. Goodbye song. Actions.
This is a sample show. Mr. I & the Rainbow Singers have many other
songs in their repertoire and are developing new songs for a new CD. These
songs will be used in the upcoming shows through the Spring and Summer 2001.
